Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/0-to-100-pricing/ STX shows prices on a 0 to 100 scale. Each market in the STX platform takes the form of a question that results in either a **YES** or **NO**. If the answer to the question is YES, contracts for that market will expire worth \$1, and if the answer is NO, the contracts expire worth \$0. The price of the contract represents the % likelihood of the outcome, which we believe is easier to understand than American Odds and Decimal Odds. As the likelihood of the outcome changes, so does the price, allowing players the opportunity to buy into and sell out of positions throughout the lifetime of the market. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/account-status/ ## Pending review Your identity has not been verified yet, so you cannot deposit or wager. See [Verifying your identity](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/verifying-your-identity/). ## Locked After three unsuccessful login attempts, your account is locked. Tap **Forgot Password** in the app and follow the link we email you to reset your password. You can log in again as soon as it is reset. ## Inactive (dormant) An account becomes dormant after **24 months without a login**. We email you about 60 days before that happens; logging in before then keeps the account active. If your account is already dormant, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) from the email address on the account about the account and any balance left on it. We may ask you to verify your identity again. ## Cool off and self-exclusion You chose a break from wagering. You are logged out and cannot log back in until the period ends. To get your funds back during that period, email [contactus@stxapp.ca](mailto:contactus@stxapp.ca). See [Cool off period](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/cool-off-period/) and [Self-exclusion period](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/self-exclusion-period/). ## Suspended or restricted We may suspend or restrict an account while we review its verification, a deposit or withdrawal, or a possible breach of the house rules. We will contact you by email if we need anything. If you think your account has been restricted by mistake, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/). ## Closed The account has been closed, either at your request or by STX. STX has a public API that you can use to read markets and to place, change and cancel orders from your own software, including automated strategies and market making. The documentation and SDKs are on the [developer documentation site](https://docs.stxapp.io/). ## What you need - A verified STX account with funds. You cannot place orders before you have deposited. - The same location rules as the app: orders are accepted only from Ontario. See [Location checks](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/location-checks/). - **An allowlisted IP address.** The API cannot run the location check the app does, so API orders are accepted from IP addresses we have allowlisted for your account. If orders are refused with "Placing Order(s) from this IP address is disallowed", [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) with the IP address you trade from and whether it is static. In the app or a browser, the same message means the location check has not run. See [Location checks](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/location-checks/). ## Getting help For questions about your account, IP allowlisting or API access, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/). Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/depositing-funds/ To deposit, log in and go to **Transactions > Deposit Funds**. The minimum deposit is **$10**. All deposits are in Canadian dollars. The app lists the deposit methods available to you. They include: - **Interac e-Transfer.** Depending on the option you choose, either your bank asks you to approve a request from STX, or the app shows you the details to send an e-Transfer from your own online banking: the recipient name (STX), the recipient email, the amount and a **payment reference**. Enter all four exactly as shown. The reference links the payment to your account and expires after two hours, so send the e-Transfer before then. - **Credit card.** - **Wire transfer.** The app shows the banking details and a reference to include with the wire. STX does not accept PayPal or cryptocurrency. ## My deposit hasn't arrived - **Interac e-Transfer:** check that the e-Transfer left your bank and that you used the exact reference shown in the app. A payment sent after the reference expired, or without it, cannot be matched to your account automatically. - **Wire transfer:** wires can take longer to arrive, depending on your bank. - **I forgot the reference, or used an old one:** [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) with the amount, the date, the name and email the e-Transfer was sent from, and the reference the app showed. We match it by hand. - **My bank returned or declined the e-Transfer, or the app says the deposit failed:** ask your bank why it was returned. Some banks limit e-Transfers to gaming sites or by amount per day. You can also try another method, such as a wire transfer. If the money has left your bank and is not in your STX balance, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) with the amount, the date, the method and the reference. ## Can a deposit be reversed? If your bank reverses or rejects a deposit after it reaches your account (for example a charge-back or insufficient funds), that amount is removed from your account balance. --- # Do STX Points Expire? > No STX Points do not expire. Once in a tier you will never drop below that. --- # Fee Schedule > STX's fees in Ontario. Maker wagers are free; taker wagers pay a fee set by the price and your loyalty tier, at most 2.5¢ per contract. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fee-schedule/ STX uses a maker-taker pricing model that rewards players who add liquidity to the market. The fee on a wager depends on whether it was a: - **Maker** wager: it waits unmatched and is matched later by another player. - **Taker** wager: it matches a wager that is already waiting. Maker wagers are free. Taker wagers pay a fee based on your [loyalty tier](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/how-many-points-do-i-need-for-each-tier/). [Fees](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fees/) explains this in plain terms. ## Fee formula For each wager: > Fee = ceil(f × C × p × (100 − p) / 100) | Variable | Definition | | --- | --- | | f | Fee factor for your loyalty tier and whether the wager was a maker or taker | | C | Number of contracts matched | | p | Matched price, in cents (1 to 99) | | ceil() | Rounds the fee, in cents, up to the nearest cent | ## Fee factors by loyalty tier | Loyalty tier | Maker factor | Taker factor | Maximum taker fee per contract | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Rookie | 0.00 | 0.10 | 2.5¢ | | Veteran | 0.00 | 0.08 | 2¢ | | All-Star | 0.00 | 0.06 | 1.5¢ | | MVP | 0.00 | 0.04 | 1¢ | | Hall of Fame | 0.00 | 0.00 | 0¢ | The maximum is the fee on one contract at 50¢, before the wager's fee is rounded up to the nearest cent. ## Why fees vary by price The term p × (100 − p) / 100 is small near 1¢ and 99¢ and largest at 50¢, where it is 50 × 50 / 100 = 25. So: - Fees are highest at 50¢: the most you can pay per contract is 25¢ × your taker factor. - The fee curve is symmetric: a wager at 20¢ has the same fee as one at 80¢. ## Fees are calculated per wager A wager can be matched in several parts. The fees of all its parts are added together, and the total is rounded up to the nearest cent once for the whole wager, not part by part. **Example:** a Rookie places a taker wager for 3 contracts at 50¢, and it is matched in three parts of 1 contract each. - Fee on each part, before rounding: 0.10 × 1 × 50 × 50 / 100 = 2.5¢ - Total for the wager: 3 × 2.5¢ = 7.5¢, rounded up once to **8¢** - Rounding each part separately would have charged 3 × 3¢ = 9¢. Rounding the wager total avoids that. ## Examples **A Rookie betting as a taker.** You are a Rookie (taker factor 0.10). You buy 100 contracts at 40¢, and your wager matches one that is already waiting. - Contracts cost: 100 × 40¢ = $40.00 - Fee: ceil(0.10 × 100 × 40 × (100 − 40) / 100) = ceil(240¢) = $2.40 - You pay **$42.40**. If each contract settles at $1.00, your profit is $57.60 after fees. **The same wager at a higher tier.** As an MVP (taker factor 0.04), the fee on the same wager is ceil(0.04 × 100 × 40 × 60 / 100) = ceil(96¢) = $0.96, so you pay **$40.96**. **Betting as a maker.** You place a wager to buy 100 contracts at 40¢, it waits unmatched, and another player's wager later matches it. Maker wagers are free, so you pay **$40.00**. **A price near $1.** A Rookie buys 100 contracts at 99¢ as a taker. Fee: ceil(0.10 × 100 × 99 × 1 / 100) = ceil(9.9¢) = **10¢**. Near 1¢ or 99¢ the fee is very small. ## Sample fees A Rookie (taker factor 0.10) betting 1 contract as a taker: | Price | Fee | | --- | --- | | 5¢ | $0.01 | | 10¢ | $0.01 | | 25¢ | $0.02 | | 50¢ | $0.03 | | 75¢ | $0.02 | | 90¢ | $0.01 | | 95¢ | $0.01 | ## When fees are charged When a taker wager is matched. Before June 22, 2026, fees were taken when a market settled instead. --- # Fees > What STX charges. Maker wagers are free; taker wagers pay a small fee that depends on the price and your loyalty tier. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fees/ STX does not charge a commission on winnings. The only fee is on **taker wagers**. ## Maker and taker wagers - **Maker:** your wager waits unmatched and another player matches it later. **No fee.** - **Taker:** your wager matches one that is already waiting, so it is matched straight away. You pay a fee. A [limit wager](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/limit-orders/) at a price nobody is offering yet waits unmatched, so when it is matched it is a maker wager. See [Orders](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/orders/) for the terms. ## How much is the taker fee? It depends on the price and your [loyalty tier](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/how-many-points-do-i-need-for-each-tier/). It is largest at 50¢ and gets smaller towards 1¢ and 99¢, and higher tiers pay less: Hall of Fame pays none. The rates, the formula and worked examples are in the [Fee Schedule](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fee-schedule/). ## When is the fee charged? When a taker wager is matched. (Before June 22, 2026, fees were taken when a market settled instead.) ## How can I pay less? - Place limit wagers that wait to be matched: maker wagers are free. - Move up a loyalty tier: each tier has a lower taker fee, and Hall of Fame pays none. See [How do I earn STX Points?](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/how-do-i-earn-stx-points/). --- # I won. When do I get paid? > Winning positions settle automatically after the event ends. You do not need to close them. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/getting-paid/ You do not need to do anything. When the result is in, the market settles and the money goes to your [available balance](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/available-balance/) automatically. You do not need to close or sell a winning position. ## How long does it take? Most markets settle shortly after the event ends. Some markets, such as player props, can settle only after the game is over, and a few take longer while the result is confirmed. Until then, the position appears under [Position Risk](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/position-risk/) and in your [Portfolio Value](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/portfolio-value/), not in your available balance. That is expected. ## I bought and sold in the same market You can bet in and out of a market as often as you like. Your buys and sells net against each other, and the market settles your net position. See [Settlements](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/settlements/). ## Can I take my profit before the event ends? Yes. Sell the contracts you bought (or buy back the ones you sold) at the current price. The difference is your gain or loss, and it is in your available balance straight away. ## My winning position hasn't settled If an event ended more than a couple of hours ago and your position has not settled, or you think it settled the wrong way, see [Results and voided markets](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/results-and-voided-markets/). --- # How are STX Points calculated on wagers? > How many STX Points you earn per dollar wagered, and which wagers count. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/orders/ On STX, players must place orders in order to execute a wager. Players wager by placing buy or sell orders in a specific market using any available funds in their account. When a player's order is matched by another player's order (equal price but opposite side) a wager occurs. There are many different terms related to Orders on STX including: **Order Book: **The **"Order Book"** discloses the orders that are currently outstanding in a given market. Each order in the Order Book has a quantity and price associated with it, but the orders are aggregated by price when being displayed. The Order Book shows you the liquidity available at each price as well as what the best bid and best offer are on the market. If a player has an Open Order, the remaining quantity that hasn't been filled will appear in the Order Book. **Limit Order:** A **“Limit Order”** is an order to buy or sell a specific quantity of wagers at a limit price. The resulting wagers cannot execute at a price less favorable to the player than the limit price, but wagers can execute at prices more favorable if it is available in the market. **Market Order: **A “**Market Order**” is an order to buy or sell a specific quantity of wagers at the best available price in the order book at the time of order placement. Due to the dynamic nature of an order book, there is no guarantee to the price at which a market order will execute, but the STX engine will give an estimate based on current market conditions. **Maker Order:** A **"Maker Order"** is any order that sits on the order book when it is placed because there is no existing order of the opposite direction and overlapping price to match with. **Taker Order:** A **"Taker Order"** is any order that matches with one or more existing orders on the order book thus executing a wager immediately upon order placement. **Open Order:** An **"Open Order"** is any Maker Order that is currently available in the Order Book and can be matched. **Closed Order:** A **"Closed Order"** is any order that has either executed in full or been fully or partially cancelled prior to being matched. Orders can either be cancelled directly by the player that submitted the order, or when the market the order was placed in has expired before the order was matched. Orders that are cancelled result in funds that were tied up due to the associated risk being released back to the Player’s available balance. **Filled Order:** A **"Filled Order"** is an Order that has been completely matched leaving nothing remaining in the order book. **Partially Filled Order:** A **"Partially Filled Order"** is an order that has been partially matched, but some of the order remains open in the order book. The remaining quantity in a partially filled order can be cancelled, but the matched quantity can't be cancelled. --- # How to Place a Wager (buy/sell)? > How to buy or sell contracts on an STX market, and how YES and NO outcomes settle. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/place-a-wager/ On STX, players can buy or sell contracts on a market. All of our markets are binary options meaning the outcome of the market will always result in a **YES** or **NO**. If a market results as **YES** the contracts settle worth **\$1**, if the market results as **NO** the contracts settle worth **\$0.** Thus, if you believe the answer will be **YES**, you should **BUY** contracts. If you think it will be **NO**, you should **SELL** contracts. Most markets will be listed where buying contracts equates to betting on the Home Team (or OVER for totals) and selling contracts equates to betting on the Away Team (or UNDER for totals). Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/reading-a-market/ Every market is a YES or NO question, such as "Will Detroit win?". You can take either side. ## Buy or sell? - **Buy (YES)** if you think the outcome will happen. You win if it does. - **Sell (NO)** if you think it will not. Selling is a wager against the outcome: if you sell "Detroit to win", you win if Detroit does not win. For spreads and totals, the market title is the question. Buying answers YES to the title as written; selling answers NO. ## What the price means Each contract settles at **$1** if the answer is YES and **$0** if it is NO. The price is what one contract costs, in cents, and reads as the market's chance of YES: 68¢ means about a 68% chance. - A **buyer** at 68¢ risks 68¢ to win 32¢ per contract. - A **seller** at 68¢ risks 32¢ to win 68¢ per contract. You can also show prices as **American** or **decimal** odds in your settings. The same 68¢ price is **-213** in American odds (risk $2.13 to win $1) and **1.47** in decimal odds. ## What quantity means Quantity is the number of contracts. 20 contracts bought at 68¢ cost $13.60 and pay $20 if the answer is YES, a gain of $6.40 before fees. ## My order was rejected or cancelled If an order is rejected, or you cancel it before it fills, the money set aside for it returns to your [available balance](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/available-balance/). You buy and sell positions on sporting outcomes with other players, and STX doesn't take the other side of your wager. - **Prices reflect the market.** Other players' buy and sell orders set each price, and STX does not set it. - **You can trade before the result.** You can sell a position before an event ends to lock in a gain or limit a loss. - **Fees apply to some wagers.** Wagers that add an order to the market (maker) are free. Wagers that fill an existing order (taker) pay a small fee based on the price and your loyalty tier, charged when the order fills. Your potential fee is shown before you confirm. [Fee Schedule](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fee-schedule/) STX is not a financial or investment tool. It is designed and intended solely for betting on sports. Understanding Prices and Odds Every STX market is a YES or NO question, and each contract settles at **$1** if the answer is YES and **$0** if it's NO. The price, shown on a 0 to 100 scale, is the market's estimate of how likely YES is. For example, a price of **68¢** means about a 68% chance. - A **buyer** at 68¢ risks 68¢ to win 32¢ per contract. That means about a 32% chance of losing what you paid. - A **seller** at 68¢ risks 32¢ to win 68¢ per contract. - You can also show prices as American odds (-213) or decimal odds (1.47) in your settings. No outcome is guaranteed, and losing is a normal part of wagering. Every past result is independent, so a run of wins or losses doesn't change what happens next. After fees, most players lose money over time. Tips for Keeping Play Fun - Treat wagering as entertainment you pay for, not a way to make money. - Set a budget and time limit before you start, and use our Player Protection Tools ([section 7](#7-player-protection-tools)) to enforce them. - Only wager money you can afford to lose. Never use money meant for bills, rent or savings. - Don't chase losses. - Don't wager when you're upset, stressed, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. - Take regular breaks and balance wagering with other activities. ## 4. Know the Signs of Problem Gambling Problem gambling can be hard to spot because it has no obvious physical symptoms. Watch for these signs in yourself or someone close to you: - Wagering more over time to get the same excitement - Gambling more than you can afford, or borrowing money to gamble - Repeatedly trying and failing to cut back - Feeling restless or irritable when you can't gamble - Gambling to escape stress or emotional pain - Hiding or lying about gambling - Friends or family expressing concern - Strained relationships, or being unable to focus on anything else If any of these sound familiar, take the self-assessment ([section 6](#6-problem-gambling-self-assessment-tool)) or see Get Help ([section 8](#8-get-help)). ## 5. Myths vs. Facts | Myth | Fact | | --- | --- | | "I'm due for a win." | Each event is independent. Past results don't affect future outcomes. | | "I know the sport, so I can't lose." | Knowledge doesn't control outcomes, and every wager carries risk. | | "I can win back what I lost." | Chasing losses usually leads to bigger losses. | | "Gambling is a way to make money." | Wagering is entertainment, and most players lose money over time. | | "Problem gambling only affects people who wager a lot." | Harm can start at any level of play. | ## 6. Problem Gambling Self-Assessment Tool Take a few moments to reflect on your gambling over the past 12 months. This confidential self-assessment takes about two minutes. It may help you better understand your gambling habits and find the responsible gaming tools and support resources that are right for you. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/results-and-voided-markets/ ## Where are a market's rules? Every market has a description that says how it settles: what counts as a win, and the result source used. Read it before you wager, especially on markets outside sports. The [House Rules](https://stxapp.ca/legal/house-rules) apply on top of it. ## I think my wager settled the wrong way Markets settle on the official result, under STX's [House Rules](https://stxapp.ca/legal/house-rules). If you think a market settled the wrong way: 1. Check the market title and your side. If you **sold**, you win when the outcome does **not** happen. See [Reading a market](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/reading-a-market/). 2. Check the rules that apply to the market type in the House Rules, for example whether overtime counts, or how much of a tennis match must be played. 3. If it still looks wrong, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) with the market name and your order ID. We check it against the official result and correct any settlement error. ## The event was postponed, suspended or delayed STX follows the House Rules for each sport. Generally, a market stays open while the event can still be completed within the time the rules allow, and is voided if it is not. We cannot void a market early at a player's request. ## My position hasn't settled Most markets settle within minutes of the event ending. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/settlements/ Settlements occur when a player's Open Position gets closed. This can occur in two ways: Closing Settlements occur when a player has an Open Position in a market, and they execute a wager that counteracts their Open Position. A Bought Position can be closed by executing a selling wager and a Sold Position can be closed by executing a buying wager. Expiration Settlements occur when a player has an Open Position in a market that expires. Every market on the platform has an expiration. The expiration occurs at the end of the event (game, season, half, etc.) and will be detailed in the description of the market. At market expiration, every Open Position in that market goes through Expiration Settlement which results in the wagers being worth \$1 if the result is YES and \$0 if the result is NO. Funds that are tied up in Open Positions get released upon Settlement assuming there are funds to return. Fees are taken only on Profitable Settlements in accordance with the STX Fee Schedule laid out in the Rewards Program. --- # Smart Wallet > How the STX Smart Wallet frees up your Available Balance when an order would reduce your risk. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/smart-wallet/ The STX Player Account Management System utilizes a proprietary Smart Wallet that frees up a Player’s Available Balance. For example, if the execution of an Open Order would result in a profitable settlement for the Player, the risk associated with that individual Order would not be applied against Available Balance. In the same manner, a Closing Wager Settlement can open up Available Balance even if the associated Market has yet to expire. --- # Time Limits > Set a time limit to control how many hours you spend on STX, and how to change it. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/verifying-your-identity/ Every STX account is verified before it can be used to wager. Verification confirms that you are who you say you are and that you are 19 or older, as STX's licence in Ontario requires. ## How it works When you register, enter your legal name, date of birth and home address exactly as they appear on your identification. Many accounts are verified automatically from those details. If we cannot verify you automatically, we will ask you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID. The request comes by email with a secure link. Follow the link and upload the document. ## My verification link expired The link in your registration email works for **24 hours**. If it has expired, or it says "Invalid Token", [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) from the email address you registered with and we will send a new one. Check your spam folder for it. Complete the steps in one go: upload the front and back of your ID, then take the selfie. If an upload failed, or the app said there was a problem with your documents, contact us the same way and we will send a new link. ## My account is still pending review If you can't log in and see "User account waiting for approval", "Your account is not active. Please contact a STX admin" or "Your account is in review", your verification is not complete yet. An account stays pending while verification is incomplete. Usually that means: - the details you entered don't match your ID (a typo, a former address, or a nickname instead of your legal name); - we asked for a document and have not received it; check your inbox and spam folder for the upload link; or - the document was hard to read, expired or cut off. If your account is still pending, or you cannot find the upload link, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) from the email address on your account. Include your full name and the email address you registered with, and never include your password. ## Do I need to verify again later? Sometimes. We may ask for more information or documents at any time, for example after you change your name or address, or when a deposit or withdrawal needs review. --- # What are STX Points? > STX Points are rewards you earn when you wager on STX, win or lose. You wager against other players. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/what-is-stx/ STX is a sports betting platform licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for registered users who are physically present in Ontario. ## Am I betting against STX? No. STX does not take part in the wager. Every wager you make is matched with another player on the platform. STX runs the exchange and makes sure players on it are operating fairly. ## How does wagering work? Every market is a question that results in **YES** or **NO**. You **buy** contracts if you think the answer will be YES, and **sell** contracts if you think it will be NO. When the market expires, each contract is worth **$1** if the result is YES and **$0** if it is NO. Prices run from 1¢ to 99¢, and a price reads as the market's view of how likely the outcome is: a contract priced at 60¢ suggests about a 60% chance of YES. Prices move as the game or season goes on, so you can get in or out of a position at any time before the market expires. See [How to place a wager](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/place-a-wager/) and [0 to 100 pricing](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/0-to-100-pricing/). :::note Markets created before September 20, 2026 settle at $100 per contract instead of $1. They keep that value until they resolve. ::: ## What does it cost? STX uses maker-taker pricing. If your order adds liquidity to the order book and is matched later (a maker order), you pay no fee. If your order matches an order that is already on the book (a taker order), you pay a fee that depends on the price and on your loyalty tier. The full formula and the rates for each tier are in the [Fee Schedule](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fee-schedule/). ## Where can I use STX? On the STX app for iOS and Android, and on the web at [stxapp.ca](https://stxapp.ca). You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to place a wager. See [Who can join](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/who-can-join/). --- # Who can join STX? > You must be 19 or older, complete identity verification, and be physically in Ontario when you place a wager. It changes as prices move. Your available balance can be lower than your account balance because of open orders, open positions, or a withdrawal that is in progress. STX's [smart wallet](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/smart-wallet/) frees up some of this automatically: an order or a closing wager that can only make you money does not reduce your available balance. Withdrawals are sent by Interac e-Transfer only. You can withdraw up to your [available balance](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/available-balance/). ## Set up Interac Autodeposit first Withdrawals go to your bank by Interac e-Transfer **Autodeposit**, so you need Autodeposit turned on in your online banking, for the **same email address** as your STX account. If you see "You are not an auto-deposit user", set up Autodeposit with your bank, then request the withdrawal again. If your bank's Autodeposit uses a different email address from your STX account, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) to change the email on your account. We will verify your identity first. If Autodeposit is set up and you still see the message, check the setup with your bank: the message comes from Interac. ## What happens after I request a withdrawal 1. The amount is held in your account straight away, so it cannot be used for new wagers while the withdrawal is in progress. 2. Our payments team reviews the request. 3. Once approved, the money is sent to you. How long it takes to reach your bank depends on your bank. ## How long does a withdrawal take? Every withdrawal is reviewed before it is sent. Most go through without any action from you; some need a closer look, see below. ## Can I cancel a withdrawal? Yes, while it is still pending. [Contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) from the email address on your account and we will cancel it; the money goes back to your available balance. ## Why is my withdrawal taking longer? Withdrawals are reviewed before they are sent, and some need a closer look, for example: - your identity verification is incomplete, or we need an updated document; or - the funds were deposited and then withdrawn without being used for wagering, which we are required to review. We will email you if we need anything from you. If you have not heard from us, [contact us](https://help.stxapp.ca/contact/) with the amount and the date of your request. ## Why can't I withdraw my full balance? Money tied up in open orders or open positions is not available to withdraw until the orders are cancelled or the positions settle. See [Why is my balance different?](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/why-is-my-balance-different/). ## I am on a cool off or self-exclusion period You cannot log in during the period, but you can still get your money back. Email [contactus@stxapp.ca](mailto:contactus@stxapp.ca). --- # Your first wager > From sign-up to your first settled wager, step by step. Source: https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/your-first-wager/ 1. **Create your account** in the app or at [stxapp.ca](https://stxapp.ca), and complete [identity verification](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/verifying-your-identity/). 2. **Deposit funds.** Go to **Transactions** and choose **Deposit Funds**. The minimum deposit is $10. See [Depositing funds](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/depositing-funds/). 3. **Pick a market.** Each market is a YES or NO question, such as whether the home team wins. In most markets, buying is a wager on the home team (or the OVER for totals) and selling is a wager on the away team (or the UNDER). 4. **Place an order.** Choose buy or sell, the number of contracts and a price. - A **market order** fills right away at the best price available in the order book. - A **limit order** fills only at your price or better, and waits in the order book until someone matches it. See [How to place a limit order](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/limit-orders/). 5. **Watch or close your position.** You can sell (or buy back) contracts at any time before the market expires to lock in a gain or cut a loss. 6. **Settlement.** When the market expires, each contract pays $1 if the result is YES and $0 if it is NO, and the money goes back to your available balance. ## How much can I win or lose? If you buy 10 contracts at 40¢, you risk $4. If the market settles YES, they are worth $10, so you gain $6 before fees. If it settles NO, you lose the $4. Fees depend on whether your order was a maker or taker order and on your loyalty tier; see the [Fee Schedule](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/fee-schedule/). Only wager what you can afford to lose. You can set deposit, loss and wager limits at any time; see [Responsible gaming](https://help.stxapp.ca/articles/responsible-gaming-resources/). --- # Contact us > How to reach STX customer support in Ontario.
